You can turn up as soon as we start if you like! Most new visitors find it helpful to turn up half an hour earlier so you can grab a coffee and meet the welcome team
What happens during your meetings?
The meeting starts with a time of worshipping Jesus led by our musicians. During this time there will be songs, some people may feel led by God to pray or read from the Bible, and others may share things they feel God is saying. We very much believe that church is family, so the feel of our worship is friendly and informal, and you are welcome to take part at any level you feel comfortable
We then have a short break, this is a great time to chat with people you may not know. The children and youth also leave to go to their own work, we will then pray for different areas either locally or internationally and will then show our notices about whats happening in the church.
Is there a talk?
After the break, someone will speak for about 30mins this is usually someone from our leadership team. We teach truth from the Bible and apply it to how we live our lives now. At the end of the meeting, there is normally an opportunity to respond to what has been shared either through singing again or receiving prayer.
Often we’ll go through a series over a number of Sundays, and we will teach for at least 40 minutes. That might sound long, but we aim to be engaging and challenging and dig deep into God’s Word. If you have any questions (or even think it’s irrelevant) then we’d love to know your feedback!
Can anyone come along?
Everyone is welcome at our meetings and you can participate at whatever level you feel comfortable. Don't feel like you have to dress up to attend, wear whatever you feel comfortable. Please stay around to chat over a tea or coffee after the meeting has finished, or go to the Welcome Desk if you have any questions.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH WORK
Child protection and safety
Your children are important to us and we take their care and protection very seriously. All our children and youth workers are DBS (previously CRB) checked, well known within the church community and vetted by church leadership — as well as being great fun and gifted to work with kids.
Our Crèche group provide activities for babies and children that are not yet at Primary school during the majority of the morning meeting.
Is our service for toddlers ages 3 to 5, each week the children have fun playing and listening to a short story.
Activ8 is our children’s work for ages 5 to 11 years. We meet during the majority of the Sunday meeting where we worship, learn about God, make friends and have lots of fun. We believe God can speak to us no matter what our age and that our kids are a valuable part of our church family in Honiton.
Our youth group is aimed for ages 11 - 16. They have their own short talk and activities every other Sunday. They also meet every Friday evening you can find out more from the link below
